Central Park was Manhattans first Community Park that was acquired in 1960 and was established as a park district in 1964. Central Park is an 11 acre park that is located in the heart of our community. Its acquisition total was $4,000.00, which volunteers raised throughout the community by fundraising. It was years of development that has provided many years of programming, events and precious memories for our residents.

We continue to plan for the future while incorporating Central Park’s history and continue to maintain its integrity. The board of commissioners has adopted a comprehensive plan that will demonstrate the need for available grant dollars that will fund each phase. The plan includes accessible trails to all amenities, improved parking lot, pavilion room, drainage/infrastructure, updated benches and complete pond restoration.
