Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives

Join us as we visit classic “greasy spoons” featured on Guy Fieri’s famous hit show “Diners, Drive-Ins & dives” also known as Triple D. We only highlighted their most famous Item on the menu, but each restaurant has so much more to offer! Space is limited to 12 seats, so please register early.

Fee includes van transportation. Lunch is on your own.

Michigan Winery Tour - The "Cuvee Royale"

Due to the success of our trip last year to the wineries of southwest Michigan, we are happy to offer this year’s trip to the northern wineries. Travel by deluxe motor coach bus and enjoy samplings of fine wines from northern Michigan. We will travel to Paw Paw to experience the St. Julian Winery, where the winemaker is the grandson of the founder, then the Warner Vineyard, with 70 years and the third generation of winemaking. This is a Michigan historical site with a champagne cave. While in Paw Paw, you will have lunch on your own at one of 2 nearby choices. Then on to Coloma to the Contessa Wine Cellars, with its incredible views. Also, weather and time permitting, we may make a stop or two at some points of interest in the area. So, let us do the driving and you do the tasting! Fee includes coffee & donuts on bus, motor coach transportation and entrance to wineries.

Gaslight Magic & Mayhem..."The Devil in the White City" Tour

Chicago’s original ghost lore and folklore tour operator, Richard Crowe, will take us on a tour of the sites associated with the World’s Fair of 1893; its creator Daniel Burnham, and the diabolical serial killer of the period, H.H. Holmes. Sure to be of interest to Chicago history buffs, true crime junkies, fans of the best-selling book or just those curious to explore the half-forgotten byways of Chicago’s past. The tour will include several stops and drive-bys, including Oz Park, secrets of the Field Museum and Museum of Science and Industry, site of Holmes’ “Murder Castle”, Chicago Stockyards’ landmark gate, and much, much, more. We will also stop for an early dinner at Schaller’s Pump, a classic restaurant in the same family since 1881…did serial killer Holmes ever dine here? You will have to take the tour to find out! Prizes and give-a-ways will be handed out. Please choose your early dinner selection at time of registration. Early dinner selections are:

Disney's "The Lion King" Cadillac Palace Theatre, Chicago

The wait is over! After 5 long years, Disney’s “The Lion King” is finally returning to Chicago for a limited engagement. Experience the phenomenon as it once again leaps onto the Cadillac Palace Theatre stage. Marvel at the breathtaking spectacle of animals brought to life by award-winning director Julie Taymor, whose visual images for this show you’ll remember forever! Galena, IL

Fall in Galena! We had such a great trip last summer, we decided to visit Galena in the fall this year. Sit back, relax, and let us do the driving and planning. Our day will begin with a tour of Grant’s home followed by free time for you to explore the great shops of historic downtown Galena. Lunch is on your own before we head out for a cruise on the SPIRIT OF DUBUQUE on the Mississippi River. After the cruise we will take a ride up the funicular at Fenelon Street Elevator to a wonderful view of the surrounding states. Our final stop will be for a delicious family style Italian dinner at VINNY VINUCCHI’S before our trip home. Fee includes motor coach transportation, Grant’s Home tour, Mississippi River cruise, Fenelon Elevator, and dinner.

Christmas in Wisconson

Visit Cedar Creek Settlement in Cedarburg, Wisconsin for Christmas shopping in the shops and studios of the Old Wittenberg Woolen Mill. Later, enjoy a delicious luncheon at the Alpine Village Restaurant. Tour the Pabst Mansion for their annual “Christmas in Wisconsin” celebration. See the Mansion’s rooms elegantly transformed by area designers and florists. A Milwaukee favorite and a holiday treat for all ages! The Nutcracker - Paramount Theatre, Aurora

An enchanting holiday tradition for many families, Paramount Theatre is proud to present the return of Salt Creek Ballet’s THE NUTCRACKER. Sugarplum fairies, nutcrackers and delightful dancers will dazzle you in this classic dream tale. Offering all the ingredients for fantasy and wonder, this holiday favorite features spectacular costuming and sets with a cast of 65 local dancers as well as world-class guest artists. Holiday Magic at Brookfield Zoo, Brookfield, IL
